The causes of neck nerve pinching or impingement could vary with the age of the individual. In the case of senior patients neck nerve impingement is usually caused due to arthritis, ruptured disc, degenerative changes in the bone or other injuries. In younger people, nerve impingement in the neck can be caused due to a ruptured disc which is usually due to trauma.
Pain in the neck due to nerve impingement can radiate to the arms and hands. Pain relieving medicines and physical therapy are the usual treatment methods adopted by doctors considering the age and severity of the problem.
